Several trees uprooted along Highway 31 in the Sandy Ridge Community.

A short wave trough digging southward towards the Central Gulf Coast states provided ample lift for the development of convection. Moderate levels of mid level shear and instability aided in the intensity of the thunderstorms, producing several rounds of severe thunderstorms throughout the day.
