Drought in Southeast St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana
Drought October 25, 2022 – October 31, 2022 · Southeast St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana
What the National Weather Service wrote
The southeastern portion of the parish developed into D2 drought the last week of the month after a prolonged period of minimal rainfall.
The wider storm
For much of September and October, many locations did not measure much more than 1 inch of rainfall, which is quite non-typical from a climatology perspective. Although October is often a dry month, normally locations see 6-8 of rain in September. That didn't happen this year. This eventually lead to D2 drought conditions for parishes surrounding Lake Pontchartrain.
