Event narrative

Both a retired and current NWS employee reported sleet in Rockledge. Numerous pictures and video of sleet in Rockledge, Viera, Merritt Island, Cocoa, and Cape Canaveral, were submitted via social media. Videos indicated the sleet was likely mixed with graupel. Little to no accumulation occurred and there was no hazard to the public.

NWS Melbourne radar indicated a small area of fast-moving showers developed over Osceola and Brevard counties between 0930EST and 1100EST. Numerous reports of sleet, with some graupel, were reported across central Brevard County, including Rockledge, Viera, Cocoa, Merritt Island, and Cape Canaveral.
