Snow Squall Strong wind gusting to 35 mph with blizzard conditions were reported in Salmon. Observations showed that temperatures dropped from near 40 degrees to the upper 20s with the squall which likely contributed to icy conditions. Estimated total snowfall in Salmon was 1 inch while near 8 inches fell at Williams Creek Summit.

Wider weather episode

An upper level wave and associated cold front brought heavy snow to the region. A second wave initiated snow bands on the 27th.
