Event narrative

Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay (PHNG) reported strong wind gusts beginning around 5:00 AM and continuing through the evening. At 10:50am, around 760 customers were without power in the Kailua area. By noon power had been restored to most customers.

Wider weather episode

A period of high winds were noted across portions of the islands on Thanksgiving, Thursday November 24th. Frequent gusts between 34 and 49 kts were reported. Sporadic power outages occurred during the event. On Oahu, approximately 760 customers were without power in the Kailua area and approximately 1300 customers were without power in the Kalihi area. The power outages was mainly between 10:00am and 1:00pm.
