Event narrative

A 66 mph wind gust was measured at Pole Canyon with several other greater than 50 mph gusts including 58 mph at Driggs-Reed Regional Airport. 3 inches of snow fell at Driggs with 6 8nches northeast of Ashton as well making for difficult driving conditions.

Wider weather episode

A cold front moved through eastern Idaho with heavy mountain snowfall and very high winds mainly in the Arco Desert. Gusts over 70 mph were recorded and interstate 15 shut down on the 5th north of Idaho Falls. High mountain locations received over a foot of snow.
