Event narrative
Two to three inches of snow were reported, with reports coming from near Marienville and near Tionesta.
Wider weather episode
Low pressure crossed the Great Lakes on November 15 to early on November 16th. Increasing moisture and warm advection on southwest flow to the south of the low provided precipitation to the Upper Ohio Valley mainly during the late morning and afternoon hours of the 15th. Despite the warm advection, localized frontogenesis provided strong lift and a dynamic cooling effect that led to a period of moderate to briefly heavy snow across the region. Accumulation of 1 to 4 inches were noted, highest in areas near and north of Interstate 80.
