What EF1 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF1 is moderate damage: roofs badly stripped, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, windows broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 86–110 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

The tornado began just north of Norman Hill Road at Kingston Road and tracked northeast along Kingston Road. This tornado snapped trees adjacent to the road and removed much of the roofing material from a home. A small outbuilding was destroyed on Covey Rise Lane. The tornado continued to move northeast before dissipating near Peeler Gap Road north of County Road 728. Trees were snapped along the path from Covey Rise Lane to the ending point.

The wider storm

A cold front approached Arkansas from the west late Friday night into Saturday morning. Strong to severe thunderstorms developed along and ahead of this front,

with damaging winds and tornadoes observed across the state. This thunderstorm activity grew upscale from singular supercells into a linear QLCS line over the eastern half of Arkansas.
