COOP in town of Hoonah reported 5.7 inches of snow by 9am Thursday, then measured another 0.8 inches in their report the next day, but had changed to rain Thursday afternoon.

Wider weather episode

Low and associated frontal band moved across the northern panhandle after a cold break, causing snow. A brief period of enhanced snow fall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour early Thursday morning was followed by a mix with with rain through the afternoon for the Icy Strait area. The northern inner channels saw snow last longer.
