Drought — Eastern Orleans Parish, Louisiana

2022-11-01 to 2022-11-25 · Eastern Orleans Parish, Louisiana

Event narrative

The eastern portion of the parish was in D2 drought through most of the month after a prolonged period of minimal rainfall.

Wider weather episode

For much of September and October, many locations did not measure much more than 1 inch of rainfall, which is quite non-typical from a climatology perspective. These conditions resulted in D2 drought, which carried over into November for portions of southeast Louisiana. Multiple days of heavier areal rainfall ended these drought conditions during the last week of the month.
