Alaska 511 DOT report for the Klondike Highway estimated 3 to 4 inches of snow by 410pm on the 23rd with very difficult driving conditions with travel not advised. Their morning report the next day estimated 4 to 6 inches of additional snow near the border with drifting snow and reduced visibility.
Wider weather episode
A storm force low and front moved into the gulf from the south causing high winds over portions of the southern panhandle while the northern borders had colder northerly flow to start and snow.
