The Mesonet station CW0988 measured a gust of 60mph at 2330PDT November 4th. In addition, Benton PUD(via New Article) reported more than 2,100 customers without power by 11 p.m. Friday November. This was confirmed by members of the Public via facebook. Another member of the public posted a picture to facebook of a moderately sized tree snapped in half in Prosser Washington and reported trees down, roads blocked suggesting High Wind Warning magnitude wind gusts.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold front pushed through the region during the afternoon on November 4th into the morning hours of November 5th accompanied by a strong low level jet and tight surface pressure gradient. The strongest winds occurred late on the evening of November 4th and on the early morning of November 5th.
