Heavy Snow — East Puget Sound Lowlands, Washington
2022-11-29 to 2022-11-30 · East Puget Sound Lowlands, Washington
Event narrative
Heavy snow from a winter storm affected the East Puget Sound lowlands at the end of November. Reports around the North Bend area suggested between 6-12 inches of new snow, with lighter amounts noted further north into Snohomish County. Monroe reported around 5 inches of snow from the event.
Wider weather episode
An early season winter snow brought heavy snow to portions of the lowlands. Deep upper level troughing along with Fraser outflow near the surface supplied the proper set up for winter weather. Dynamic cooling also played a major role in areas of heaviest snow, especially around Kitsap, King, and Snohomish Counties.
