Event narrative

A winter storm at the end of November brought heavy snow to the Hood Canal area. An observation near Hoodsport recorded 9 inches of new snow from the event.

Wider weather episode

An early season winter snow brought heavy snow to portions of the lowlands. Deep upper level troughing along with Fraser outflow near the surface supplied the proper set up for winter weather. Dynamic cooling also played a major role in areas of heaviest snow, especially around Kitsap, King, and Snohomish Counties.
