The National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) buoy 41004, located about 41 miles southeast of Charleston, measured a 35 knot wind gust.
Wider weather episode
A strong line of thunderstorms impacted the southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina coast with strong wind gusts during the evening hours. The line of thunderstorms eventually moved out into the open Atlantic coastal waters and continued to produce strong wind gusts.
