Event narrative

A line of thunderstorms moved across Charlton County in the early afternoon and produced a brief EF0 tornado that crossed River Road with damage about 5 miles to the east of the town of Winokur. The tornado moved across River Road and lifted quickly. Tree damage was around EF0 intensity which included a large tree down across River Road with peak winds estimated around 80 mph.

Wider weather episode

A line of pre-frontal severe storms, some of which produced tornadoes, tracked across SE GA during the afternoon and early evening hours. A tornado watch was in effect for portions of the area.
