Ground blizzard conditions occurred. Winds gusted into the lower 70s mph. Interstate 90 was shut down for a period of time.

Wider weather episode

High pressure aloft, combined with a very tight north/south pressure gradient, resulted in very high wind gusts across the immediate Livingston area. These winds, combined with fresh snow cover from a winter storm a few days prior, resulted in blizzard conditions.
