In Freetown at 146 AM EST, Fire Dept. officials reported a tree and wires down near Howland Road. Winds generally were gusting to 45 to 50 mph in southern Bristol County.
Wider weather episode
A southerly low-level jet ahead of an approaching cold front moved across southeastern New England shortly after midnight on January 26th. A low pressure system tracked northeast along the front from roughly Philadelphia to Boston during the overnight hours, producing some light snow inland but 1 to 2.5 inches of rain and strong/high wind in Rhode Island, southeast Massachusetts, and the adjacent coastal waters.
