A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down multiple trees to the northwest of Bloomsburg.

A cold front crossed central Pennsylvania during the afternoon of February 21, 2023, preceded by bands of gusty low-topped rain showers and thunderstorms, aided by steep lapse rates and appreciable deep-layer shear. Small (sub-severe) hail was also observed in some locations.
