ASOS station KDLN Dillon Airport measured a lone gust of 59 mph in the afternoon of the 27th.

Wider weather episode

A developing surface trough across North-central Montana combined with increasing south to southwesterly flow in the mid levels resulted in a setup for high winds across Southwest Montana, especially in the Madison River Valley. Additionally, heavy snow fell across portions of the area.
