A strong cold front and upper level disturbance brought snow and gusty winds to much of western South Dakota. Most areas on the plains received an inch or less of snow, but much of the northern Black Hills area saw three to six inches of snow, especially the higher elevations. Wind gusts of 40 to 55 mph produced areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility at times, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours.
