COOP Observer at Lena Point in Juneau reported 5 inches of snow had fallen by 1115 am on the 9th and was up to 6 inches by 1pm with snow still falling. The Juneau airport reported snow ending shortly after. Another trained spotter in a nearby area also measured heavy rates over the morning hours of the 9th.

Cold air advection behind a low pressure system passing SE of the region caused very localized heavy snow showers.
