A strong cold front moved across the area during the evening hours, bringing with it a brief period of snowfall, gusty northerly winds, and frigid temperatures. Snowfall amounts generally stayed light, in the two to four inch range. The main impacts during this period stemmed from the extreme cold, with many locations over the plains observing wind chill values of 25 below zero to 35 below zero. Some locations across El Paso county observed wind chill values of 40 below zero to 50 below zero.
