The Emergency Manager reported icy and slick road conditions due to light accumulations and subfreezing temperatures, including the closure of all lanes of Highway 411 North near the Appalachian Regional Port and at Halls Chapel Road, and icy conditions on Highway 52 at Holly Creek Cool Springs Road.

Following an extremely cold Christmas day, a fast-moving clipper system produced light snow in north Georgia on December 26th. Even with the dry air mass in place, the system was able to squeeze out enough moisture to make it to the surface, resulting in a dusting of snow in the higher elevations of north Georgia and reports of snow flurries as far south as the Atlanta metropolitan area.
