The combination of cold temperatures and light winds caused wind chill values to fall to -15 to -20 during the morning hours. A teenager died of hypothermia in a field near Wrightstown.

Arctic high pressure brought a cold airmass over northeast Wisconsin during the morning hours on Tuesday (1/31) with air temperatures of 5 to 25 below zero. Light winds of 5 to 10 mph allowed wind chills to fall to 15 to 35 below zero during the morning hours on Tuesday (1/31). The cold weather caused two fatalities in Wrightstown (Brown Co.) and Sturgeon Bay (Door Co.).
