A 70-year-old male was swept away by rip currents at Flamenco Beach in Culebra.

The combination of a small northerly swell and a high pressure system driving fresh to strong winds across the islands resulted in choppy and confused seas across the Atlantic waters. As a result, breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet resulted in a high rip current risks for the north-facing beaches of the islands.
