Wind chills dropped as low as -47F at Ash Lake for around 4 hours around sunrise on the 30th.

Cold high pressure remained in place across the Northland for the night of the 29th into the 30s. Winds were much lighter this night with many areas seeing calm winds. As air temperatures dropped once again into the 20s and 30s below zero F, it didn't take much wind to generate dangerous wind chills. As the sun began to rise, winds increased enought to create wind chills in the 40s below zero F with Ash Lake reaching -47F.
