A compact and quick moving system brought bands of snow across much of southwestern into south central South Dakota during the late day and evening hours. The heaviest band developed from portions of the central and southern Black Hills into the southwest South Dakota plains, where some areas of four to nine inches of accumulation were noted. Elsewhere, only a few inches fell.
