What the National Weather Service wrote

A combination of Coop observers, CoCoRaHS observers, and public reports included snowfalll amounts of 7.8 inches in Park City, 11.9 inches in Wanship, 14.0 inches at Deer Creek Dam, and 14.9 inches in Oakley.

The wider storm

A strong winter storm brought widespread snowfall and winter impacts to much of the forecast region for the start of 2023. Some of the high elevation locations saw snow begin prior to the new year, while most valley locations saw rain switch to snow right around midnight on the new year. Additionally, isolated flash flooding was reported in southern Utah due to rainfall associated with the system.
