The Hachita Valley RAWS recorded a peak gust of 74 mph. The Chiricahua Desert Museum recorded a peak gust of 62 mph.
Wider weather episode
A deep, broad upper low was located over the northwestern United States with an upper level jet approaching 150 knots over southern New Mexico. Extremely strong southwest winds moved through the region with a peak gust of 111 mph confirmed on the White Sands Missile Range.
