Snowfall amounts around 15 inches, along with blowing snow and poor visibilities, were reported across the area.

Wider weather episode

An arctic front moved across the Billings Forecast Area. This was followed by a moist flow aloft off the Pacific. This moist flow aloft produced a multi-day overrunning snow event across the Billings Forecast area. Many locations received heavy snow accumulations. The storm impacted travel across the area. Highway 191 was closed for a period of time and a large portion of Interstate 90 was shut down for nearly a day.
