Event narrative

Bryce Canyon National Park officials reported a snow water equivalent of 0.77 inches, with an associated snowfall of 10.4 inches. Additionally, the higher elevation Agua Canyon SNOTEL site recorded 1.7 inches of snow water equivalent, resulting in approximately 32 inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

Another prolonged and unsettled pattern took hold in the middle of January, resulting in widespread precipitation and moderate high elevation snow accumulation, with some more modest amounts noted at lower elevations.
