Broadcast media reported roof damage to Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT at 500 AM Local Standard Time. Additionally, there were multiple reports of downed trees and wires by the CT Department of Highways, including North Haven at 626 AM Local Standard Time, as well as Southbury and Middlebury between 1022 AM and 1032 AM Local Standard Time.

A strong low pressure system centered near the eastern Great Lakes Region continued to strengthen as it moved northeast on December 23, 2022. This brought high winds over southern Connecticut that morning as the pressure gradient tightened over the area.
