Automated equipment at Badger Pass estimated an event total of 13 inches of new snow. Equipment at Mount Lockhart estimated an event total of 10 inches of new snow. Equipment at Waldron estimated an event total of 12 inches of new snow.

Wider weather episode

A broad trough and an Arctic air mass became established over the region for the episode. The initial frontal boundary crossed the Canadian border shortly after midnight Feb 20, passed through central/north-central Montana on Feb 20, and cleared the southwest by the morning of Feb 21.
