Mesonet observing stations reported widespread anomalous cold, with areal median 3-hour minimum wind chill values of approximately -30F. The coldest 3-hour running average noted was -45F at the Randolph mesonet site.

Wider weather episode

A series of weak disturbances resulted in light to moderate snow accumulations for much of the region to close out the month, with the highest amounts noted in the higher terrain. Additionally, the storm brought a period of anomalous cold as it departed.
