There was one fatality along US 277, 8 miles north of Eldorado due to vehicular accident caused by icy roads.

Wider weather episode

The combination of warm air aloft overrunning a sub freezing arctic airmass at the surface and a series of upper level disturbances moving across west central Texas, resulted in some light freezing drizzle/freezing rain across the area. Also, a more significant winter storm event continued into the first few days of February.
