Winter Storm — Otsego, Michigan
2023-03-17 to 2023-03-19 · Otsego, Michigan
Wider weather episode
A two-part lake effect snow event set up from the evening of 3/17 into the early morning hours of 3/19 across portions of northern Michigan. Westerly low-level flow helped organized a heavy lake effect snow band along an existing boundary draped across northern lower Michigan, dropping 6-10 of snow overnight across portions of Antrim and Otsego counties. Winds then shifted from west to northwest on 3/18 after a frontal passage, eventually refocusing a dominant lake effect band over Antrim, Kalkaska, and western Otsego county. By the morning of 3/19, event total snowfalls of 12-16 were measured across portions of the aforementioned counties.
