A peak wind gust of 55 kts was measured from a direction of 220 degrees by the ASOS site KNJW at Joe Williams Naval Outlying Field.

Wider weather episode

A few rounds of severe thunderstorms moved across portions of Mississippi from late in the evening of April 12th through the evening of April 13th. These storms produced wind damage and several tornadoes before a cold front brought an end to storms from west to east.
