A Mesonet site at the Chihuahuan Desert Rangeland reported a peak gust of 70 mph. A 67 mph gust was also recorded at the CDRRC Camp Location.
The wider storm
An upper low was moving out of the Las Vegas, NV region and into northern New Mexico. A 100+ knot jet was moving across southern New Mexico. Southwest winds ahead of this system and an associated cold front gusted up to 111 mph at San Augustin Pass.
