A COOP observer in Charles City reported 9.1 inches of snow had fallen from the evening of January 18th into the early morning hours of January 19th. A fatal single vehicle accident occurred east of Charles City on January 23rd, where roads remained snow and ice covered following the snowfall on January 18th and 19th. The driver lost control and was partially thrown from the vehicle when it crashed into a creek bank.
