Event narrative

High winds occurred across the Apple and Lucerne Valleys mainly during the morning and early afternoon hours on February 14th. Multiple SoCal-Edison sites in the Lucerne Valley recorded peak wind gusts of 58 mph. In Phelan, a street sign was blown over in 40-50 mph winds per a report from CalTrans.

Wider weather episode

An inslide slider storm system dove across the Western US on February 14th and 15th. This led to high winds occurring over much of the mountains and desert foothills, as well as caused snow levels to fall to around 3000-4000 feet in Southern California.
