Event narrative
Very light snowfall during the early morning was accompanied and followed by gusty northwest wind, which resulted in drifting of snow and the formation of black ice on roadways. A vehicle lost control on ice-covered Interstate 29 near mile marker 71, entered the median and rolled, which resulted in an indirect fatality to the driver and injury to a passenger.
