Snowfall amounts were 14 inches 4 miles southeast of Judkins, 13 inches in Ashton, and 10 inches in Squirrel. Road closures due to heavy snow and strong winds were US Highway 20 from Ashton to the Montana border, Idaho Route 47 from Ashton to Warm River, and Idaho Highways 32 and 33 closed as well.

Wider weather episode

An extended period of snow and wind in association with a strong Pacific storm system brought heavy snow, strong winds and extreme cold which closed roads and brought widespread heavy snow.
