Twenty to 30 below zero temperatures were widespread on the 30th with wind chills 50 below zero or colder. The Mackay School District 182 was closed on the 30th due to the extreme cold.

Wider weather episode

Extremely cold temperatures combined with high winds to cause dangerously cold wind chills from the 29th through the 31st. Several schools closed on the 30th and 31st due to the cold.
