Event narrative

The Idaho Department of Transportation closed Idaho 29 between Leadore and Bannock Pass due to the combination of heavy snow and blowing and drifting snow. A period of intense snowfall, with wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph associated with snow squalls, was observed, particularly on Idaho State Highway 28 south of Salmon to Gilmore Summit.
