A tourist male, approximately 40 years old, was swept away by rip currents and drowned at Las Picuas beach in Rio Grande.

The wider storm

Moderate to locally fresh trades and small northerly swell created choppy seas up to 6 feet and occasionally higher across the Atlantic waters. This resulted in life-threatening rip currents along the northern coast of Puerto Rico during the weekend of March 24-26.
