Low pressure tracked across the Gulf of Maine through the 26th...with a Norlun type trof extending back toward coastal Washington county. Snow developed during the morning of the 26th and persisted into the evening. Convergence along the trof helped focus the snow across coastal portions of Washington county. Snow accumulations across coastal Washington county generally ranged from 2 to 5 inches...with a very isolated 8 to 9 inch total reported around Roque Bluffs. A sharp gradient of lesser snow totals occurred across the rest of the Downeast region. Total snow accumulations across the remainder of the Downeast region were generally an inch or less.
