A strong low pressure system moved into the Northeast, bringing accumulating snow to Central New York. During the overnight hours on the 3rd, the snow transitioned to a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow. This wintry mix helped keep totals lower across most of the region. The wintry mix did transition back to snow in the morning hours on the 4th. With the heaviest snow just east of the region, isolated areas in the far eastern portions of Delaware and Otsego Counties received up to 9 inches, with up to 7 inches in Northern Oneida County.
