Severe (D2) drought conditions improved to moderate (D1) drought conditions over most of western Cherry County by the end of February. Across south central Cherry County, severe (D2) drought conditions persisted through the end of the month.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions improved some in February across the area. The greatest improvements occurred over portions of north central and southwestern Nebraska. In these locations, drought severity improved by one category in February. Elsewhere, drought conditions remained un-changed during the month.
