Extreme (D3) drought conditions improved to severe (D2) drought conditions over most of Hooker County by the end of February. Over far northeastern Hooker County, extreme (D3) drought conditions persisted through the end of the month.

The wider storm

Drought conditions improved some in February across the area. The greatest improvements occurred over portions of north central and southwestern Nebraska. In these locations, drought severity improved by one category in February. Elsewhere, drought conditions remained un-changed during the month.
